When to book flights from the Balkans (the honest answer)

Every few months an article claims flights are cheapest on a specific weekday at a specific hour. If that were reliably true, airlines would have priced it away long ago. Here is what actually influences what you pay from Balkan airports, based on how carriers in the region really behave.

Booking windows that make sense

For summer sea routes, the good fares usually go early: the cheap seats on July and August departures sell out months ahead, so booking in late winter or early spring tends to beat waiting. For city breaks in the off-season the opposite can hold, with decent prices even a few weeks out, because demand is flatter.

Last-minute bargains on scheduled flights are mostly a myth in the region. Low-cost carriers price seats upward as the plane fills; an emptyish flight might get a promo, but a July Friday to the coast will not.

Promo cycles beat calendars

Wizz Air, Ryanair and Air Serbia all run recurring sales: route anniversaries, seasonal campaigns, membership discounts. These drops matter far more than the day of the week you search. The practical move is to know your target route and check it regularly for a couple of weeks, so you recognize a genuinely good price when it appears.
